n n Outside Account Manager n n821 – Fayetteville – 2355 North Gregg Ave, 2355 North Gregg Ave, Fayetteville, Arkansas, United States of America Req #10885 n nnWednesday, January 6, 2021nn nn nn n n n nn Position Summary nn n n nThe Outside Account Manager maintains relationships and obtains orders of existing customers, and secures new customers by calling or visitingn n n n n nn Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities nn n n Secure orders from existing and potential customers by means of visiting the customer facility and job site(s) or contacting by phone. Make joint calls with manufacturers’ reps. Secure opportunities to quote on customer requirements. Follow up (by phone or visit) on quotations submitted to customers. Establish professional relationships with appropriate customer/vendor personnel (purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, management, other key personnel). Target new accounts; generates account growth in current accounts; follows up on key company initiatives to grow markets; follow-up on qualified leads. Meet margin dollar goals as agreed upon during forecasting with the branch or sales manager. Maintain communications with key internal resources concerning customer relations and respond to concerns in a timely manner. Submit weekly activity/call reports concerning customer-related activities for quotes, orders, and problems concerning customer/vendor relationships. Negotiate and oversee maintenance of profitable, accurate account matrix Maintain key supplier rapport promoting Mayer as First Choice for suppliers while focused on Mayer branding. n n n n nn Additional Responsibilitie s nn n n Perform all assigned duties for assigned accounts. Provide lost business reports on a weekly basis. Provide an updated sales forecast on a monthly basis. Perform assigned duties with minimum personal supervision from the branch manager. Actively participate in and contribute to Mayer’s Continuous Quality Improvement efforts. Complete assigned training in a timely manner. May participate in or assist with physical inventory preparation or process. Demonstrate commitment to Mayer’s core values and vision to be First Choice with our suppliers, customers, and associates. Complete all other appropriate tasks or duties assigned by supervisor. n n n n nn Required Skills/Abilities nn n n Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Self-motivated and a self-starter Sense of urgency, with excellent sales and customer service skills Ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and ERP systems n n n n nn Qualifications nn n n nn Minimum Requirements : nn n n n n High school diploma or GED. Five years of sales experience Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. n n nn Desired Qualifications : nn n n n n Some college or technical school training. Two years of counter sales experience with Mayer, or previous inside sales experience in the electrical distribution industry. NAED EPEC Bronze certification. n n nn Other nn n n n n nn Work Environmen t: nn n n The Outside Account Manager’s work is accomplished in an office setting using a computer and telephone, or a customer site. Travel by vehicle to customer sites to support sales is required. n n nn Physical Requirements: nn n n Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional climbing, stopping, and kneeling. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. n n n n nn Travel Requirements: nn n n Overnight travel may be required on occasion to attend training or meetings.
